Design Process & Payment Schedule
Consultation I
- Client receives a list of prices to estimate the cost and plan a budget.
- The designer discusses the needs and design preferences with the client.
- The cost of a domain name & web server space is the responsibility of the client. The designer advises the client on the acquisition and set-up of these items.
- The designer receives all materials (content, photos, graphics) before a final price quote is given and the design phase begins. The designer specifies the file formats.
Price Quote
- The price quote is given based upon the list of prices and the requests of the client.
- Once the Design Phase begins, additions or changes may result in an amended price quote.
- 1/3 Project Cost – Payment is due before Design Phase I begins.
Design Phase I
Consultation II
- The client amends and/or approves the final design mock-up of the web site.
- If needed, the designer informs the client of an amended price quote.
- The designer completes the requested changes to the design mock-up of the web site.
- 1/3 Project Cost - This payment will also include any additional cost agreed upon in an amended price quote. Payment is due before Design Phase II begins.
Design Phase II
- The designer completes the HTML design & stylesheet.
Consultation III
- The client amends and/or approves the HTML design & stylesheet.
- If needed, the designer informs the client of an amended price quote.
- The designer completes the requested changes to the HTML design and stylesheet.
Design Phase III
- The designer inserts all content, completes all programming, and places all images and graphics.
Consultation IV
- The client proofreads the site.
- If needed, the designer informs the client of an amended price quote.
- The designer makes required changes.
- The client approves the site for publishing.
- 1/3 Project Cost – The payment is due before site is uploaded to the server. This payment will also include any additional cost agreed upon in an amended price quote.
- The site is uploaded to the server.
- After final payment, a back-up CD of site will be delivered to the client. The client owns the web site, but the designer reserves the right to use it as part of a portfolio. The designer also reserves the right to create a link to her website.
- The maintenance of the web site is not included. Charges are billed at the rate of $17.50 in half-hour increments. See Maintenance Charges for details.
