CJ McCollum, Instructor
I am very excited to be teaching in the Computer Science Department of Trinity University. I am grateful for all the staff and faculty that are helping me transition into life on the Trinity campus. I am impressed with the opportunities for students and staff to learn and use technology.
During my 30+ years as an educator, I have taught a variety of courses including Chemistry, Physics, Science for special needs students, Web Design, Video Technology, 3D Design, Animation, Publication Graphics, Portfolio Design and Senior Internship.
After leaving the staff of Churchill High School, I worked as an Instructional Technology Coordinator with the NEISD Educational Technology Department. My primary function involved training teachers to integrate technology into their classrooms. My computer lab at central office became the district's first classroom in which Web Design & Video Technology classes were taught to students from all of the district's high schools. When the Design & Technology Academy was founded, I returned to the classroom to teach technology classes until my retirement.
I had the privilege to work with Ms. Belisle and Pamela Valentine in creating and designing an online educational project for the San Antonio Museum of Art entitled Faces of Civilization.
Recently Pamela Valentine and I partnered to develop curriculum to support the recently completed Lenora and Walter F. Brown Asian Art Wing. The print version contains background information and lesson plans for the use by local educators. The digital files can be downloaded from the Focus on Asia web site.
In addition to teaching and consulting, I provide science and math tutoring and TAKS Preparation support for high school and middle school students in the San Antonio, TX area. My clients have access to online resources and study aides, along with a Homework Forum.
