"There are quantities of human faces, but there are many more faces, for each person has several." Rainer Maria Rilke

The San Antonio Museum of Art is more than a collection of paintings, sculptures, and objects. It is a collection of stories told by people from all over the world across time. But because these stories are without words, many of them must be read in the faces we see there. Sometimes the faces are mysterious or strange. Look at the two faces shown on the left. You will learn more about them when you can see them in person, but for right now, study them and write ten words for each one that help describe them.
